Install mods on your Enshrouded server using community-built mod loaders like Shroudtopia or EML. Enshrouded does not have official mod support yet, but the modding community has built reliable tools that work on dedicated servers.

Installing a mod loader

Before you can use mods, you need a mod loader on your server. Shroudtopia is the most widely used option.

  1. Download the latest Shroudtopia release from Nexus Mods
  2. Stop your server using the GCP
  3. Extract the downloaded archive
  4. Upload the extracted files to the root of your server directory (alongside enshrouded_server.exe) using SFTP or the File Manager
  5. Start your server

The mod loader will generate its configuration files on first start.

Installing mods

Once a mod loader is installed:

  1. Download the mod you want from Nexus Mods
  2. Stop your server
  3. Upload the mod files to the mods directory (created by the mod loader) using SFTP or the File Manager
  4. Start your server

Check the mod’s description page for any specific installation instructions - some mods require additional configuration steps.

Where to find mods

Nexus Mods is the primary source for Enshrouded mods. Popular categories include QoL improvements (stack sizes, inventory management), building enhancements, and gameplay tweaks.

Server-side vs client-side mods

Some mods only need to be installed on the server and work for all connected players automatically. Others require installation on both the server and each player’s client. The mod’s description page will specify which type it is.

For client-side installation, players follow the same process but install files to their local Enshrouded game directory instead.

Removing mods

  1. Stop your server
  2. Navigate to the mods directory in the File Manager
  3. Delete the files for the mod you want to remove
  4. Start your server
